About Roadhouse LA
Modernist Global BBQ
It’s the world’s oldest cooking method: heat and meat. What was once a primal need (a primal must) has now been raised to an art form: BBQ.
Personal BBQ recipes may be the most closely guarded and cherished of all secrets, passed down from generations and defended with pride and passion. You can say a lot of things about a man—but challenge his BBQ style at your own peril.
BBQ has forged life-long friendships, inspired marriage and fueled divorce, built communities and driven civilizations into battle.
BBQ is serious business.
And while no one can agree on the proper spelling (BBQ, Barbeque, B-B-Que, Bar-B-Q, Bar-B-Cue, etc.), there is certainty about what is at the core of BBQ genius.
Kyle Schutte knows smoke. And a lot of other things about how to achieve culinary perfection.
After graduating from the Art Institute of Atlanta, Schutte joined the award-winning ONE Midtown kitchen in Atlanta and was the Executive Chef at both Vu in Marina del Rey (where he was named one of the top young chefs to watch) and 54Twenty in Los Angeles (where it was named one of LA’s best new restaurants.)
As Executive Chef of Roadhouse LA, Kyle is creating BBQ with a modern twist, combining farm-to-table ingredients, global influences, and state-of-the-art techniques.
